A complete Program and Instructional Manual to guide
the successful planning
and implementation of a
Get Focused...Stay Focused!® Program.
The Get Focused...Stay Focused!® Program is a scalable, cost‐efficient program promoting high school graduation, post ‐secondary completion, and successful entry into the workforce. The process starts with a freshman transition course that culminates with a student-created 10-year Career and Education Plan that is updated in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades and used throughout high school for advisories and academic coaching.
This manual provides the necessary planning and implementation resources so you can conduct a Get Focused...Stay Focused!® program in a way that assures your students graduate with the attitudes, aptitudes, and plans that research shows encourage college/post ‐secondary completion.
Students will graduate with:
- A carefully-considered career path
- An informed major or program of study
- A post-secondary institution or training program that not only matches their career and life goals but is also affordable
- A unique Skills-based Education Plan that facilitates successful entry into a highly competitive workforce upon completion of their education
This hybrid, classroom-based, comprehensive guidance program is unique among educational programs today because:
- It is a whole‐school effort, touching every student on campus rather than a select few
- The Common Core-based lessons provide an opportunity to “double dose” English, math, speaking, and technology skills in the guise of a personal development course
- Every professional on campus can easily access the online 10-year plans to personalize their work with individual students
- With sequenced comprehensive guidance in the classroom over‐burdened counseling teams receive support
The resources in this manual, in conjunction with the award‐winning course materials, provide both administrators and instructors with a turnkey solution for success from the program’s very first day.
